Teen held over baby’s death from 2010

A TEENAGER has been charged with the murder of a baby in Huthwaite dating back two years.

Scott Andrew Gladwin, a local to Huthwaite, was arrested and charged yesterday (Wednesday 5th December 2012) in connection with the death.

He appeared before Mansfield magistrates this morning during a brief five-minute hearing, when he was remanded into custody at a young offenders’ institute until his appearance at Nottingham Crown Court tomorrow (Friday 7th December).

He was already a serving prisoner.

The charge follows an incident at a house in Huthwaite on 3rd February 2010, in which four-month-old Scott Cawthorne was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre. He died in hospital three days later.

A Home Office post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be head injuries.
