TEAM members at Sutton’s Wilkinsons have been spreading the Christmas cheer to raise funds for two local charities. Staff hosted a Christmas themed tombola and raffle, on a market stall in the town square, raising over £190 for the store’s regional charity of the year, Ashgate Hospice.

Before turning on the Christmas lights in Sutton town centre last week, Paralympic gold medallist, Ollie Hynd, spent time in store signing autographs and posing for photographs with customers.

As part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to the local community, Ollie was also presented with a cheque donation to his charity O.A.S.I.S (Olympians in Ashfield Support in Sport).

Gary Elleston, Wilkinson store manager, said: “This year’s Christmas event has been a delight to organise and take part in. The whole team is incredibly enthusiastic about raising funds for Ashgate Hospice and O.A.S.I.S and we hope that our customers enjoyed the activities as much as we did.

“At Wilkinsons, we see the importance of raising funds for charities with connections in the local area and are very pleased all of the money donated will go towards helping people in our community who truly need it.”
