TWO men arrested over the death of Colin Hall in Kirkby remain in custody.

The men, aged 37 and 38, were arrested in Hucknall on Tuesday.

Mr Hall (76) died following an attack at his home in Cornerpin Drive, Kirkby on Sunday (10th February).

DCI Tony Heydon said: “While we made arrests yesterday, this inquiry is far from over. There is someone out there who will have information that can help us and we need to hear from them urgently.

“The public response has been excellent, and we have spoken to a number of people who saw a man wearing a high-visibility jacket in the Kirkby area on Sunday night. Other sightings report two men together, one wearing a high-visibility jacket. Do you know who this is? Were you with a man in high-visibility clothing?

“Further enquiries make us believe that the assailant’s intentions was to take money, but that doesn’t change the consequences of Mr Hall collapsing and dying later at hospital. Did your son, father or partner return home on Sunday evening acting out of the ordinary? If so, we need you to tell us what you know.”

House-to-house enquiries are continuing today.

Detectives believe the suspect is white, of medium to heavy build, and was wearing dark clothing with a black hat or hood and a sleeveless, yellow high-visibility jacket.

If you have any information, call the incident room on 01623 483953, Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
