People from community and voluntary groups across Mansfield attended the Mansfield Social Media Surgery at Mansfield CVS on Wednesday 28th May.
The free surgery was run by volunteers from Nottinghamshire voluntary organisations. People came along to ask questions about how to use Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other means of social media to better promote the work their organisation or group does.
Social media is a great way to ‘spread the word’ and make new connections. Indeed, the surgery came to Mansfield CVS as a result of MCVS Marketing Coordinator, Kate Boughton and Social Media Surgery guru, Paul Webster, striking up a conversation during #mansfieldhour on Twitter. Proof that social networking really can lead to good things.
The event proved so popular that a date has already been set for the next one. The next Social Media Surgery will take place at Mansfield CVS from 4pm-6pm on Wednesday 23rd July. If you would like further information call Kate on 01623 651177 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
