Shirebrook firefighters called out to grass fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Shirebrook were called out to a grass fire this afternoon (Tuesday) just off The Woodlands at Whaley Thorns.

The crews received the call at 1.48pm and on arrival found approximately 100 square metres of grass to be well alight.

They use water packs and beaters to extinguish the flames and it was brought under control less than an hour later.
