Police plea for witnesses to serious crash at Blyth
Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash in which five people were injured.
A gold Ford Mondeo and black Peugeot RCZ coupe were in collision on the B6045, between Worksop and Blyth, at about 8.25 pm on Saturday.
The driver of the Mondeo, a 75-year-old man from Worksop, was taken to Bassetlaw District General Hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.
A 37-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Mondeo, was taken to the same hospital where her condition is described as stable.
Three people travelling in the Peugeot, two women and a man, were taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen either vehicle travelling on the road at the time of the collision or prior to the incident.
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Paul Jaycock, from the Crash Investigation Unit, on 101 extension 800 2225 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
