The £10,000 4ft tall solid marble statue of Lord Byron, whose body is buried in Hucknall, was taken from Godmersham Park, near Ashford, Kent, between midnight and 5am on Wednesday, April 20.

Detectives said the statue is “extremely heavy” and would have required a number of people to manoeuvre it.
