POLICE and trading standards are continuing to investigate money-loss complaints against an estate agents and its former owner.

More than 30 people have contacted Chad claiming they are out of pocket following dealings with Eazi-Move and Dawn Broome.

The issue was first highlighted by landlord Allyson Swan who told us her Rainworth tenant was not given her £450 bond back and rent was not forwarded on.

Since then dozens of Eazi-Move customers contacted us with similar complaints.

Eazi-Move Estates and Lettings had offices in Rainworth and Mansfield Woodhouse which have now both closed.

A spokesman told us the Kirkby office, in Kingsway, had changed its name to Eazi-Move Ltd and had nothing to do with Dawn Broome or the other companies.

But a number of disgruntled customers told us they had dealt with Dawn Broome at the Kirkby office.

The company website has now been removed from the Internet and there is no answer on any of the phone numbers.

There was no one at the Eazi-Move office in Kirkby when we attempted to contact them there.

A spokesman from property site Zoopla said Eazi-Move was being removed due to lack of payment.

Nottinghamshire Police have also had dozens of reports and Pc Steve Owen is investigating each case to distinguish if the complaints are criminal or civil issues.

Trading standards are also continuing to investigate.

Sarah Houlton, trading standards manager at the county council, said: “We are continuing to look into this issue, which involves liaising with police colleagues who are carrying out their own investigation.”

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said enquiries were ‘ongoing’.

People still remain concerned at a lack of action from authorities and have given up hope of getting their money back.

The amount lost could run into tens of thousands of pounds. One landlord, who claims to have lost over £5,000 said: “I’ve given up hope of getting my money back but people are simply looking for justice.

“It seems a complete trail of destruction and debt has been left behind which needs fully investigating.”
