Pleasley farm hand guilty of sexual assault and exposure

A FARM labourer has been found guilty of sexually assaulting six women.
A jury at Nottingham Crown Court heard that Alan Jevons, 24, grabbed their bottoms, pulled up their tops to reveal their breasts and in some cases exposed himself to them.
But an allegation that he twice raped another woman he knew was dropped by the prosecution after the jury failed to reach verdicts on those charges.
Jevons, formerly of Crompton Road, Pleasley and living at one time in Nether Langwith, has been locked up until he is sentenced later this month.
The jury were out for almost seven hours after a week-long trial.
They found Jevons guilty of 12 of the 17 counts of sexual assault he faced.
He was found not guilty on two counts and three others were left on the file.
He was also found guilty of two of the three counts of exposing himself.
During his trial the court was told the offences took place over a period of five years up to last year.
Grace Hale, prosecuting, said: “It is precisely because none of the women told on him that he carried on boldly sexually assaulting these women and getting satisfaction from it.”
He was finally arrested after one of the women told her husband than rang a friend who was a policeman, the court heard.
Jevons maintained he did nothing sexual and said the women had ganged up on him.
He denied rape and said intercourse had been consensual.
Judge Jonathan Teare remanded Jevons in custody until February 27th.
