People urged to keep pond clean

Have your say

A mountain of debris has been cleared from the Carrs Local Nature Reserve in Warsop as part of a project to improve the mill pond and create a sustainable environment for wildlife.

Traffic cones, a shopping trolley, bottles and needles were amongst the rubbish cleared from the banks and waters of the pond by staff from Mansfield District Council, who also cut back overhanging trees.

The Carrs, which is one of nine Local Nature Reserves in the district, attracts a range of wildlife, including nesting birds, swans, ducks, Canadian geese and a variety of fish.
