Police investigating an attempted burglary in Ollerton have released a CCTV image of a man the want to trace in connection with the incident.

Two suspects tried to remove wooden boards from the window of a vacant flat above the One Stop Shop, in Forest Road, at about 3.40am on Thursday 26th April.

The alarm was triggered and the men fled the scene without stealing anything. They are believed to have driven away in a small hatch-back car.

Both offenders are white, of slim build, and between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall. One was wearing a light coloured hooded top, a black waterproof coat and grey jogging bottoms while the other was wearing a black top, black baseball cap and black jogging bottoms with white stripes down the leg.

Officers are linking the incident to a burglary at the shop during the early hours of Friday 6th April. Offenders got into the store through the flat and stole a large quantity of cigarettes.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who has information about either incident, is asked to call DC Jann Olsen, at Sherwood CID, on 101 extension 809 7748 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
