A second application has been submitted to planners to transform land on the site of Blidworth’s old police station.

Last month Chad reported that a developer was aiming to convert the Dale Road building into a three-bedroom house, having stood empty since 2012.

Now the company, Plumb Ltd, has submitted plans to build four homes on the car park next to the old station, which stands on the corner of Dale Road and Haywood Oaks Lane.

If given the greenlight by Newark and Sherwood District Council’s planning committee, they will each have three bedrooms, with eight off-road parking spaces between them.

Plumb Ltd said the old station had been on the market to attract businesses for the premises to be used as an office, but had little interest.

They propose to demolish adjoining offices and change it to a three-bedroom home, which has been given the backing of Blidworth Parish Council.
