Notts Healthcare worker charged with rape at mental hospital

A Nottinghamshire healthcare assistant has appeared at Nottingham Crown Court charged with 16 sexual offences.

Robert Roberts (pictured), 59, of, Hathersage Way, Sutton, is accused of 14 counts of sexual assault and two of rape.

The charges are in relation to incidents reported to have taken place at Millbrook Mental Health Unit, which is a separate unit run by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, on the site of Kings Mill Hospital, Sutton, in 2014.

Roberts did not enter pleas and was bailed to attend again on September 9.

A trial date has been set for April 24 next year.
