The official opening of the new Forest Hospital on Suthwell Road in Mansfield G130226-4a

A BRAND new facility which caters for people with mental health issues has opened in Mansfield.

Forest Hospital, which is located on Southwell Road, has 50-bed for people aged under 65 with working-age dementia, alcohol-related brain injury and Huntington’s disease.

The hospital will provide high quality intensive and rehabilitative care for people and their families affected by the illnesses, with a focus on personalisation and community living.

Thefacility has been developed by Barchester Healthcare in partnership with Nottinghamshire Healthcare.

Mike Parsons, founder and chief executive of Barchester Healthcare, said: “We have developed a service that draws on good practice from the public and independent sector.

“Our new services will reflect local needs and continue to promote Barchester’s reputation for delivering high quality services and person centred care in the best possible care environments.”

Professor Mike Cooke CBE, chief executive of Nottinghamshire Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Barchester Healthcare to provide access to high quality, responsive and individualised care.

“This excellent new facility will enable more people to be treated closer to home and will ensure that they receive that care in the most appropriate environment to meet their needs.”

Forest Hospital has been constructed by design and build specialist, Castleoak, who has designed the hospital around the needs of the patients.

The development provides excellent, modern, facilities with lots of day space, quiet areas and outside space for patients and families to enjoy.
