Motorists hospitalised after A38 smash at Sutton

A motorist had to be cut free from the wreckage of his car following a smash on the A38 this morning, Saturday, 4th January.

Fire crews from Ashfield, and a specialist rescue unit, were called to the road at Sutton close to the Pinxton turn-off, following the collision involving three vehicles - including an Audi and a Peugeot - at around 6.45am.

Two people had release themselves from the vehicle prior to the arrival of the emergency services, but one had to be cut free.

Two people were taken to hospital, including the male casualty who was cut from his car.

The road was closed but has since re-opened.
