Men caught stealing games from Tesco
HOUSEMATES who tried to steal computer games from Tesco on Mansfield’s Chesterfield Road have appeared in court.
Marc James Dolan (35) and Kevin Haddy (23), both of Ratcliffe Gate, admitted putting the five games, worth £174, in a bag and trying to leave the store without paying last month.
The court was told how the pair had not purposely gone out to steal, but had found a bag, which contained traces of foil - the types used to avoid shop detectors - which had given them the idea.
Dolan’s case was adjourned until 25th March, but Haddy was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
No financial penalty was handed outto Haddy after the court was told how he had struggled with paying his rent and had felt ‘desperate’.
