Mansfield ring road closed after ‘Banana Bridge’ damage

MANSFIELD’s ring road was closed last night after high winds left metal hanging from a footbridge.

Police were called to St Peter’s Way just before 6pm after reports of corrugated iron panels hanging from the footbridge near to the junction of Ratcliffe Gate, known as ‘Banana Bridge’.

Officers closed the road as a safety precaution while the hanging metal was removed. It was reopened at about 8pm.
