A MANSFIELD landlady who lost her mum to cancer has organised a number of charity nights to boost the coffers of Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal.

Tammy Jarvis, who runs The Ladybrook Pub, has organised two Halloween-themed events to help raise crucial cash for our life-changing campaign.

The popular pub will kick off their charity events with a Halloween fancy dress night on 26th October, featuring raffles, prizes, collections and other attractions.

And the fun will be then followed the next day with another family-themed Halloween event with children-friendly activities.

Tammy, who is a former nurse at Mansfield Community Hospital, said: “We are doing all we can to raise money for the MRI appeal. I lost my mum to cancer and my dad to a brain tumour, so I know just how important it is for King’s Mill Hospital to have the best MRI scanner possible,

“The MRI appeal is very close to my heart and I wanted to do my bit to help.

“Each Saturday the pub is paying out for a band to play at the pub as part of our ongoing fundraising events.

“We have been raising money for the appeal for the last 2-3 weeks and have collection buckets on show at the pub. So far the response from customers has been excellent, the appeal seems to have captured their imagination.”

The pub will also be holding a Ladies Night on 24th November and a charity auction on 21st Decemeber, with prizes donated from businesses across Mansfield.

For tickets, or further information, contact Tammy on 01623 237524 or 07793052313.

More than £117,000 has already been raised as kind-hearted fundraisiers from across the district continue to dig deep to back our appeal.

Chad launched the mammoth fundraising drive on 27th June to help King’s Mill Hospital modernise their MRI facilities.

Donations to our MRI appeal can be made by visiting Chad receptions, calling the customer services department at King’s Mill Hospital on 01623 672222, by visiting Sherwood Forest Hospital’s NHS Trust website, through Just Giving or by cheque.

All cheques should be made payable to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charitable Funds.
