A YOUNG dancer from Mansfield is set to appear on Sky One’s ‘Got to Dance’ live semi-final next month.

Star of the show, Gwynneth Amour Sumagaysay, will join 29 contestants of all ages in performing a live dance on the popular talent show.

The eight-year-old has been dancing since she was three, and she takes up to six lessons a week.

Her lessons focus on a variety of styles including freestyle disco, which has been her style of choice in previous rounds of the show.

She is no stranger to success, usually entering at least one competition a month, with a regular habit of winning them.

Two years ago, she picked up two trophies in one go at the 2011 Freestyle Championships.

This was considered to be one of her greatest successes to date - but her advancement through the rounds of ‘Got to Dance’ could challenge that.

Hosted by Davina McCall, the show is once again searching for the best new dance act in Britain and Ireland.

The eventual winner will take the life-changing £250,000 prize.

The judges on the show’s panel praised the youngster’s performance in the previous round.

Kimberley Wyatt declared it ‘unreal’, adding: “I have never seen anything like that before.”

Dancing star Ashley Banjo added that dancing is “in your blood” and joined Kimberley and Aston Merrygold in awarding her gold, and with it, a place in the next round.

The youngster’s semi-final appearance will take place on 3rd March at 6pm on Sky 1.
