Man assaulted two women in Mansfield after being told to ‘go back to Africa’
A MAN assaulted two women in Mansfield town centre after being told to ‘go back to Africa’, a court has heard.
Cedric Mills had visited Mansfield for a night out with friends on 14th July, magistrates were told.
The 24-year-old went to buy some chips on his own before approaching three women who were sat on a bench.
His advances were rejected and he became angry after being told: “Go back to Africa, you don’t belong here.”
The court heard how Mills spat at one of the women and then hit another after being slapped.
Mills, of Earlsfield Drive, Nottingham, went back to his car to drive home but was stopped by police and arrested.
He pleaded guilty to one count of assault, possession of cannabis and failing to provide a sample for analysis.
Mills was found guilty following a trial on the second assault. He claimed the spit was an accident.
The case was adjourned for a probation report and sent to Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing as Mills was in breach of a suspended sentence.
