Police had to close off a street in Somercotes today, Saturday 14th December, after roof cladding on top of a bingo hall had come loose.

The emergency services were called to Walker’s Bingo Hall shortly before 2pm after reports of the cladding being in a dangerous position on top of the two-storey building.

Firefighters from Alfreton attended the scene but they had to request a high-rise ladder platform from Derby.

The matter was resolved shortly before 4pm.
