A community stalwart hopes to lose his locks and raise hundreds of pounds for a very worthy cause
On Friday 7th March 2014 the members of the Prospect Maun Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) will be holding a special open meeting in the Bentinck Miners Welfare Club, Kirkby in Ashfield to present member Cedric Brough, with a certificate marking over 50 years membership and service to the order.
Following the formal presentation ceremony, secretary Harry Simpson will be undergoing a sponsored headshave to raise funds for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
Harry said: “Sponsorship forms have been circulated to RAOB members locally and around the country and it is expected that several hundred pounds will be collected for the charity. My beard which has been a constant companion for nearly 30 years has been untrimmed since before Christmas.”
The whole event is open to everyone and will take place in the club’s upper concert-room.
