Kirkby pensioner dies following ‘disturbance’ at his house

A PENSIONER has died following an incident at an address in Cornerpin Drive, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

The victim, who was in his 70s, collapsed following a disturbance at the property at around 9pm last night (Sunday 10th February).

Officers are seeking a man seen in the area at the time, who is described as white and of medium to heavy build.

He was wearing a dark clothing with a black hat or hood and a sleeveless, yellow, high-visibility jacket.

The victim collapsed and later died at hospital. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened.

DCI Tony Hayden said: “Whilst the full circumstances are yet to be revealed we are appealing for anybody who might have been in and around the vicinity of Lowmoor Road or Cornerpin Drive yesterday evening. If you saw this man or anything else unusual please get in touch with us.”

A Home Office post-mortem is planned for this afternoon.
