One of the country’s largest cranes has removed a bridge deck as part of plans to expand Markham Vale.

The Bailey bridge over Erin Road was removed on Tuesday by Mabey Bridge Ltd which brought its 350-tonne crane to lift it off its abutments before dismantling it.

The work is part of Derbyshire County Council’s plans to transform the former Seymour Colliery site with the potential to create an additional 2,000 jobs.
