Pupils at Forest Town’s John T. Rice Infant School have had their Christmas holidays extended by a day after the heating system broke down.

Parents were asked to keep their children at home by text and a message was also posted on social network site Twitter.

An engineer has been in attendance at the Braemar Road school and the problem is expected to be resolved during the course of today so lessons can go ahead tomorrow as planned.
