A REPORT into changes for Ashfield Health Village has been made available following a four-month public consultation exercise.

Feedback from the local community, service users and other stakeholders has been reviewed by Nottinghamshire PCT’s board, which says recommendations to improve the delivery of services are being drawn up on the strength of the responses.

The formal public consultation process took place between June and September this year and centred on the ‘Vision for a Healthier Ashfield’ discussion document which proposed a wider range of services to Ashfield Health Village.

Over 360 people responded to the consultation, which sought the opinion of the public about developing a ‘one-stop-service’ approach to care, and the proposed transfer of the stroke rehabilitation ward from Ashfield Health Village to a specialist stroke unit at King’s Mill Hospital.

Deborah Jaines, chief operating officer at Mansfield and Ashfield Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We are grateful to everyone who took the time to give us their views and make suggestions about how to provide the best possible mix of services and support to the community through Ashfield Health Village.

“In all, 364 feedback forms were received and we also had additional feedback from individuals, patient groups and other organisations with a particular interest.

“The public consultation stimulated much useful debate and a number of themes emerged which are now being considered further.

The Clinical Commissioning Group is leading this
work and will bring a further report to the board with recommendations for the pattern of services at Ashfield Health Village.

The consultation documents reviewed by the PCT Board are available to view online at http://www.nottspct.nhs.uk/
