Sutton’s ice skating superstar Meg McFarlane has added two new gold medals to her burgeoning collection after a successful trip to a recent competition in Iceland.
The 10-year-old attended the 3rd Inclusive Skating International competition for skaters from all over the world in Reykjavik at the end of May.
Representing Great Britain, Meg, who trains at Sutton’s Lammas Leisure Centre, came first in both of her competitions to bring home impressive gold medals.
Meg, who was also the winner of the Nottinghamshire Junior Disability Sportsperson of the Year in 2013, is coached by Louisa Chatwin.
She said: “We are so proud of Meg’s achievements.
“To come first in both of her categories is fantastic and she now has two more gold medals to add to her collection.”
Meg has Down’s Syndrome and suffers from a heart condition which has meant she has needed three major heart operations.
