MUSIC fans will be able to listen to a host of new bands as well as do their bit for charity at a music event being held in Sutton.

Barista, on Outram Street, is set to hold the latest in its Sutton Sessions series on 20th September from 7pm, giving the cream of the live music scene the chance to showcase their talents and win new fans along the way.

The event will feature both acoustic and rock music, has been organised by Sutton’s Takeover Radio and Eve Trades, which is part of Framework Housing Association.

All the money raised will go towards covering the cost of the event, with any left over being used to provide music workshops in the community.

Gemma Gillard, who is one of the organisers, said: “This is the second in a series of events organized to showcase the talent of local people, particularly those from the younger generation.

“Not only do the bands and musicians get the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience, but they also get exposure through airplay and interviews on the radio and through publicity on Framework’s social networking pages.

“Given the success of the last event we have now decided to stage the event in two rooms to allow us to showcase a wider variety of music and to enable our audience to experience something new.”

Appearing on the line up will be Comatone, Dale Carline, All So Reckless, Becca B, Calling Michael and many more.

Gemma added: “Not only is this a great night, but it is also your chance to support up and coming new talent and to recognize the achievement of young people.

“This is a family orientated environment and is a safe place for all the generations to come together and have fun.”

The artist will also see their music broadcast by Takeover Radio with highlights appearing on www.takeover106.co.uk.

The event is also supported by Nottinghamshire County Council.

Tickets are priced at £3 in advance and £4 on the door. For more details or to buy tickets call into Barista. Information is also available at www.facebook.com/suttonsessionsofficial and by emailing suttonsessions@gmail.com.
