A former Mansfield Town photographer was involved in an apparent angry spat with Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies during a Championship match last night.
Dan Westwell, who used to supply Stags photographs to Chad, appeared to be confronted by the Forest manager on the touchline during the game against Millwall at The New Den.
Dan, a freelance snapper who was wearing his official high-vis press jacket, appeared to be approached by an angry Davies.
Photographs of the incident were later released and appear to show a steward trying to intervene.
Dan took to Twitter later and claimed Davies had sent one of his staff out initially to request he stop taking photos of him.
He claimed Davies then approached screamed at him demanding to know where he was from before Dan was moved by Millwall stewards. He also said Jonathan Greening - Forest player coach - was stood behind him watching him edit the photographs.
He described it as a ‘crazy night’.
Westwell did not want to add any further comments when approached by Chad.
Davies was also quizzed by a national reporter during the post-match interview, but played it down, saying: “He said: “I asked the photographer where he was from. I only asked him a question because five minutes before that I asked one of my staff where he was from.
“It was just ‘Excuse me Sir, can you tell me where you’re from?’ That’s it.”
