Drugs seized after raid on home of disabled Shirebrook man
DRUGS were seized when police raided the home of a disabled Shirebrook man, a court was told.
Drugs squad officers with a search warrant went to Wayne Evans’ address and found 8g of methedrone, an illegal stimulant.
Magistrates at Chesterfield were told that Evans (27) was already serving a suspended jail sentence.
It was imposed in March for offences of possessing mephedrone - a similar illicit stimulant known as M-Cat - and cultivating cannabis plants.
Evans, of Springfield Avenue, Shirebrook, pleaded guilty to possessing methedrone on 1st June.
The offence put him in breach of the suspended sentence order.
The justices committed him to Derby Crown Court for sentence on October 26 and ordered probation service reports.
“The officers showed him the warrant and he showed them the drugs. He was fully co-operative with police,” said John Kavanagh, for Evans.
