Driver taken to hospital after Pleasley smash

A man had to be taken to hospital following a crash today, Sunday 9th February.

The collision happened late morning on the junction of Common Lane and Outgang Lane, Pleasley.

It involved a Fiat Punto and a Toyota Corolla, with one driver - a man in his early twenties - being taken to hospital by ambulance with backache, although it was not thought to be a serious injury.

Fire crews from Mansfield and Shirebrook worked together to cut the man free from his vehicle.

The road was closed until the scene was cleared.
