THE family of a man killed in a fatal crash on the A60 Cuckney Hill have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to contact police.

Luke Winter (24), of Nether Langwith, was killed when the black Citroen car he was driving collided with a silver Ford Fiesta at 7.45pm on Wednesday 15th August.

He was the sixth person to be killed on the stretch of road since 2006 which prompted a Chad campaign for speed cameras in the area.

Luke’s pregnant partner Keeley Nattriss also lost her father Tony in a crash on Cuckney Hill three years ago.

About 1,500 people signed a petition for improved safety between Church Warsop and Cuckney and investigations into installing cameras are ongoing by the county council.

Luke’s family, who back the campaign, are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Dad Geoff said: “Whether they saw anything of the incident at the time or anything earlier that evening I would urge them to contact police.

“Something which may seem irrelevant could turn out to be very important.

“The police need to get to the bottom of it, we need to know what happened. We’ll only find out if people come forward.

“We want to appeal to people to look into their hearts and think how they would feel if they were in our position.

“If anyone knows something which may help police they need to find the courage to stand up and be counted.

“It is really important to us. We are still in bits about what happened.”

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash who has not already spoken to police.

The Fiesta had taken a route between Church Warsop and Cuckney Hill.

Any sightings of the car on part of the route could assist the police investigation.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
