All Saints’ Church

Reader Eleanor Greaves led harvest thanksgiving on Sunday week. Associate Priest, the Rev Adrian Dempster, preached and Lauren Dykes, Tony Hallam, Maureen Walton-Mowbray and Maureen Dempster gave readings. Estelle Ellis and Tom Stimpson were musicians. Monetary gifts and tinned produce were donated to Beacon Project for homeless people at St John’s Church, Mansfield. A harvest lunch was served after the service. In the evening Ian Hallam led Brightlights Youth Group’s meeting.

Baptist Church

John Foster led Sunday week’s morning service. Cliff Bacon was organist and Paula Skinner led junior church. Mr David Ardron led the evening service. The church was open for prayer last Monday week and there was carpet bowls at the sports hall. On Wednesday week there was Pizza and Praise, and on Thursday week, a prayer lunch. Shirley Dicks hosted Bible study at her home on the Thursday evening.

Boys’ Brigade, Girls

Thursday week’s meeting was led by Ms S. Davies, Mrs S. Craddock, Miss N. Jenner and Messrs P. Halfpenny, N. Wakeland and J. Wakeland. Anchor and junior members had drill, arts, crafts and games at the sports hall. Mrs Craddock led devotions with themes of rain and Noah’s Ark. Company section members prepared for a talent contest and planned a Christmas play.
