All Saints’ Church: There was a Mothers’ Union meeting, last Tuesday week, and a coffee morning on Friday week. Associate Priest, the Rev Adrian Dempster, celebrated Sunday week’s Holy Communion assisted by Reader John Whitbread. Ina Halfpenny and Margaret Osborne read lessons and Tom Stimpson was organist. Ian Hallam led Brightlights Youth Group’s meeting.

Baptist Church: Ladies’ weekend started on Friday week with a concert by Gospel Brass. Mrs Marian Matthews led Sunday week’s morning service. Mrs Hazel Williams was pianist for the day. Paula Skinner led junior church. Mr Mike James led the evening service. Last Monday week the church was open for prayer and there was a carpet bowls session at the sports hall. On Wednesday week there was Pizza and Praise, and on Thursday week, a prayer lunch. On the Thursday evening Shirley Dicks hosted Bible study at her home.
