St Michael’s Church

On Thursday a team of bellringers Mike Lilley, James Croft and Anthony Cotton from Derbyshire together with Peter Waterfield from Norfolk and Paul Mason from Kettering visited St Michael’s and during a continuous peal lasting three hours and seven minutes they rang 11different doubles methods. Team vicar, the Rev Barbara Dale, who was assisted by Phillip Briggs, conducted the Communion Service. Organist was Mrs Jean Holmes. Mesdames Mabel Briggs and Sheila Clay assisted the sidesman, Garry Hall, in the offertory procession. The Sunday Club acted a small play. Katie Watkin read a poem. Later that morning the Rev Barbara baptised Noah James Sheppard and Grace Elizabeth Sheppard.
