Community News - Forest Town

St Alban’s Church

Sunday’s communion service was led by priest-in-charge the Rev Philip Stead. Sidepersons were Derek Naylor and Christine Lunness, Kathy Smith and Sue Waldram gave Bible readings and Pam Negus led prayers of intercession. Penny Hunt, Sheila Oliver and Doreen Payne presented the offertory. Rhona Wallhead administered the chalice and Teresa Pearson operated the sound system. Refreshments were served by Gillian and Neil Watemore and Natalie Jackson and Derek Naylor. The table top sale raised £169.60.

1st Forest Town Scout Group

Last weekend, 60 members including 15 parents attended a family camp at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Calverton. At Thursday (Sherwood) Cubs, leaders Steph Musgrove and Linda Riley supervised games and holding a forum to talk about camp activities and doing good turns and their best at all times. The Outdoor Challenge was completed by those who attended camp. On Saturday morning 18 Cubs from both packs attended Southwell Minster to take part in a District event to gain the ‘My Faith’ badge.
