Methodist Church

On Saturday a beetle drive helped raise £68 for funds. The morning service was taken by Robert Vickers with Enid Marsh playing the organ. Later church members visited Rainworth Methodists for their evening service.

Friendship Club

30 members and friends were welcomed by Pat Tyler to the ‘Winter Warmer’ cookery demonstration. Members also enjoyed bingo. The club’s next meeting is the AGM on Friday at the Village Centre at 2pm.

Flower Club

The demonstration on Monday week was ‘Three Plant Heroes’ with Anne Barnes. Each of Anne’s designs was inspired by notable people in the plant world. The next meeting is an open evening on Monday, 19th November at 7pm in the Upper Hall and will be a demonstration ‘This Most Magical Time’ with June Borrowdale. Tickets are £8 and include buffet refreshments and are available from Jenny 882650, Sylvia 882893 and Chris 870512.

Royal British Legion

The AGM will be held at Farnsfield Cricket Club at 7.30pm on Tuesday 6th November. Non-members are welcome. At 10am on Remembrance Sunday the branch Standards will lead the parade to St Michael’s Church for a service conducted by Rev Seymour-Whiteley. After the Service a Wreath laying Ceremony will take place at the War Memorial in St Michaels Churchyard. This year there will be a Garden of Remembrance at the memorial for members of the public to place their own Poppy Crosses in Remembrance of the Fallen.
