Chairman Mary Stokes and members attended the meeting at the home of Linda Goldby on Tuesday week. Members played bingo, callers were Mary Stokes and Edna Wright. Refreshments and teas were provided by Linda Goldby.
President Heather Brown welcomed all members to Members’ Night on Tuesday week in the Cator Hall. Jerusalem was song. Jenny Bartle read the minutes and Brenda Millward correspondence. An excellent buffet super and wine was provided by members. Three prize winners were Pauline Dobbs, Pat Peach and Karen Turnbull. A vote of thanks was given by Jenny Bartle. Team winners named Just For Girls with leader Pat Peach received a bunch of tulips.
St Andrew’s Church
Holy Communion service Sunday week was led by the vicar, the Rev Richard Seymour Whiteley, who preached, and was assisted by the Rev Margaret Groves, who did the sermon. Readings were by Michael Beaumont and Nigel Spraggins. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sue Wilson.
Chairman Trevor Goodman welcomed members to the recent annual meeting. Three new members were welcomed. Members discussed the busy year with six outside displays, also lots of fund raising, and hard work cataloging the Chad archive material. All committee officers were re-elected for another year.
The table top sale which took place on Saturday week in the Village Hall raised a total of £515 toward funds. Thanks to Celia Smith and Ann Rose who kept everyone supplied with refreshments and to all the stall hirers and helpers. Thanks for all the donations and to everyone who came along to support the event.

Eight members attended the meeting on Thursday week in the Village Hall. Winner of the raffle prize was Celia Smith.
Social Whist Drive
Six members attended the session held on Wednesday week at Burton Court Centre. Whist winners were Celia Smith, Jean Corkish, David Ramsdale and Laurie Mudd. Raffle winner was Ken Corkish.
Over 50s Club
Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 47 members to the meeting held on Wednesday week in the Welfare. Dance MC was Denis Teather and bingo caller was Connie Roberts. Members joined in a horse racing-themed game arranged by Marion Sentence, Katie Towle and Brian Charlesworth. A general knowledge quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Connie Charlesworth. Winners of the chocolate dance were John Cordon and Rayna Clipston. Refreshments were served by Connie Roberts. Twenty-one raffle prizes were won byAlan Higgins, Brenda Wilderspin, Connie Roberts, Mo Bowls, Jacqueline Brown, Joan Jones, Heather Fell, Sue Ball, Kathleen Booth, Sheila Cottrill, Connie Charlesworth, Jan Jones, Carol Bird, Christine Benn, Marion Sentence, Marni Shah, Rex Powell and Jill Olley.

Hospitality greeter was Paula Pestell who also read the gospel. Reader was Marion Towle. Elements were taken up to the Altar by Jenny Elston and Paula Pestell, and the offertory was taken by Lauryn Stokoe. Intercessions were read by the Vicar. Sunday school was supervised by Sandra Burrows and Lauryn Stokoe the theme was God created the world and everything in it. Hannah Bonser and Chloe Clarke read the childrens prayer. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sandra Burrows and John Olley. Organist was Derek Reaney.
