Residents in Riddings can chat to cops and staff from a number of local agencies at a monthly drop in surgery.

It has been set up to give people a chance to meet officers from the Somercotes and Riddings Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, the Guinness Trust, Futures Housing, children’s, youth and health services and local councillors, schools and churches.

PCSO Meikel Miller of the Somercotes and Riddings Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The surgeries are all about giving residents the opportunity to talk about call in and speak to representatives from many different agencies in one place about any concerns we have.

“We have held two so far, and both have been really successful so we are really pleased to be able to offer them on a regular basis.”

Free refreshments are available at the surgeries which take place between 9am and 11am on the first Thursday in every month at Riddings Park Community Centre.

The next one will be on Thursday, 1st November.

You can also contact the Somercotes and Riddings Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101, the non emergency number for Derbyshire police, or by emailing alfreton.neighbourhoods@derbyshire.pnn.police.uk.
