Clipstone teen given three-year ASBO

A 17-year-old from Clipstone has been given a three-year antisocial behaviour order (ASBO).

Ellis Power was given the ASBO at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court following action from Mansfield North Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Under the conditions of the order, which lasts until March 2016, Power must not cause harassment, alarm or distress to three named individuals, enter Bansal Food and News Convenience Store, Garibaldi Lane, Forest Town or go to a specified area of Garibaldi Road, Forest Town, for six months.

Inspector Mark Webster, of the Mansfield North Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This shows we are continuing to take positive action for the community.

“We have increased our patrols in this area as well as sought funding for CCTV and worked with our partners on youth intervention work.

“I hope it serves as a warning to other individuals that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated by the police or local communities.”

If Power breaches the order he will face a fine or prison sentence of up to five years.
