KMH Scanner Appeal Cake Sale on Thursday

MORE than £500 was raised for Chad/King’s Mill Hospital’s life-changing MRI Scanner Appeal following a second successful cake bake fundrasier this week.

Hospital volunteers sold a variety of tasty treats throughout Thursday morning at the Chad organised event to patients, visitors and hospital staff.

The popular fundraiser follows on from a previous cake bake event, which helped to raise more than £250.

Chad teamed up with hospital bosses on 27th June to launch the ambitious appeal to raise £750,000 to help King’s Mill improve their service by purchasing a new state-of-the-art MRI Scanner.

The current facility treats around 10,000 people a year, but needs modernising to allow King’s Mill Hospital to provide a more detailed and safer diagnosis to hundreds of thousands of patients over the next seven years.

Speaking after the event a hospital spokesman praised the dedicated team of volunteers who had helped make the event possible.

“We just want to say thankyou to the volunteers who ran the stall on the day and to the Chad staff, hospital staff, hospital volunteers and their families and friends who made the cakes and pastries. Thankyou to everyone who bought them, it was a total sell-out,” she said.

“Without the volunteers today this event would not have gone ahead and really appreciate their input and efforts.”

Donations to our MRI appeal can be made by visiting Chad receptions, calling the customer services department at King’s Mill Hospital on 01623 672222, by visiting Sherwood Forest Hospital’s NHS Trust website, through Just Giving or by cheque.

All cheques should be made payable to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charitable Funds.
