Bolsover drink-driver flipped car after skidding on ice
CRIME: Crime scene.
A CAR driven by a Bolsover woman who was over the limit ended up on its roof, a court was told.
The accident took place on Rylah Hill, Palterton, at about 7.30am on 24th November.
Becky Mahon, prosecuting, told Chesterfield magistrates that Saorise Dutton’s Ford Fiesta skidded on a patch of ice.
“It hit a lamp-post and turned onto its roof. She said she had been drinking the night before and was on her way to work,” said Ms Mahon.
Dutton (26) failed a roadside breath test and went on to give a reading of 96mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood, the limit being 80mgs.
Dutton, of Greenaway Drive, admitted drink-driving. She had a clean driving licence and no previous convictions.
The justices fined her £291, with £85 costs, and imposed a one-year driving ban.
Dutton, who said nothing to the court about the offence, can reduce her ban to nine months by passing a drink-driving rehabilitation course.
