Bolsover District Council’s hat-trick of RSPCA awards
Bolsover District Council has been awarded the RSPCA ‘Stray Dogs Bronze Footprint’ award for the third successive year.
The council retained the award for providing a good stray dog and animal welfare service. RSPCA officials scrutinised the Council’s policies and procedures and awarded them the Bronze Footprint for the way in which they cared for stray dogs and the handling skills of the dog warden.
Bolsover District Council Cabinet Member for the Environment, Coun Dennis Kelly said: “It’s great that we have received this award for the third year running as we pride ourselves on how we deal with our stray dogs and the quality of care we afford every animal when it comes into our care.
“Our dog warden is very caring and has an enormous amount of knowledge which helps when dealing with stray dogs and we feel this was a huge plus for us in receiving this award again.”
The Council also runs a dog re-homing register to help people find their perfect pet when one becomes available. If anyone can offer a stray dog a good loving and caring home, please fill in the form at www.bolsover.gov.uk/dog-adoption or contact the dog wrden on 01246 242424.
