Bevercotes rave ‘scaled down’
Police said on Sunday afternoon that a rave at the former Bevercotes Colliery site has ‘scaled down considerably’.
They now believe only around 100 people are still in attendance after earlier reports of between 1,000 and 2,000 people gathering at the disused site.
The number of parked vehicles the B6387 road between Walesby and Retford, which had been causing concern, has also reduced considerably.
A spokesman said: “Police will remain in attendance until the site is cleared.”
Earlier on Sunday police had praised local residents for their patience after complaints over noise from the rave.
