Banned Sutton driver ran away from police after wheel-spin
Mansfield Court House.
A SUTTON driver has been told he could face jail after being caught behind the wheel when disqualified.
Jonathan King (22), of Pepper Street, was seen driving a Nissan Qashqai on Station Road on 24th January.
Police saw the vehicle wheelspin away from a set of traffic lights, said Daniel Pietryka prosecuting at Mansfield Magistrates Court.
The car came to a stop in a retail park where both men in the vehicle got out and ran off.
King was arrested outside Sutton Community College.
The court was told he had a previous conviction for driving whilst disqualified in 2006.
Simon King defending, said his client borrowed his girlfriend’s car to run errands.
The case was adjourned until 21st February for a probation report to be prepared.
