MORE than £3,700 has been raised for Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal thanks to caring students from across Ashfield.
Kind-hearted pupils from Quarrydale School, Ashfield School and Kirkby College dug deep to raise £3737 for our life-changing camapign after holding a sponsored non-uniform day on 19th October.
The students read about the ambitious appeal in Chad and decided they had to do their bit to support King’s Mill Hospital.
Jon Crone, headteacher at Quarrydale, told Chad the fundraising drive had been a fantastic effort by all those involved.
“Students donated whatever they wanted and also got sponsored by parents and grandparents,” he said. “There are some very generous people around Ashfield and this is a great amount.
“Times are hard these days, but that did not stop people playing their part. I would have been happy if we had raised £2,500 so we are delighted.
“The pupils were very keen to support this appeal because it is local. King’s Mill Hospital does a fantastic job every time we have to take a student up there and we are delighted to offer them our support.”
Donations to our MRI appeal can be made by visiting Chad’s reception, calling the customer services department at King’s Mill Hospital on 01623 672222, by visiting Sherwood Forest Hospital’s NHS Trust website, through Just Giving or by cheque.
All cheques should be made payable to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charitable Funds.
