HEALTH bosses at NHS Nottingham City and NHS Nottinghamshire County have approved plans for the relocation of two wards currently based at Kirkby’s Ashfield Health Village - but they have announced that they make an extra investment of £1.6million for new services and longer opening hours at the facility.

The plans, which were approved at a board meeting in Nottingham yesterday, mean that Chatsworth ward will go to Mansfield Community Hospital and the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit to King’s Mill Hospital within the next few months.

It follows an earlier decision to move the dementia wards, Shelley and Bronte from the health village to King’s Mill Hospital and Highbury at Bulwell.
