Appeal for witnesses to Riddings park vandalism

Police are appealing for witnesses after play equipment was so badly damaged that it had to be removed from a park in Riddings.
A climbing frame was damaged and a rope swing set on fire at Riddings Park, West Street next to the community centre between Monday and Wednesday last week.
Pc Mark Gibbs from Riddings and Ironville Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “The play equipment on the park is used by a lot of young children and families and these vandals have ruined two expensive pieces of equipment.
“I would encourage anyone with information, especially anyone that may have been walking their dog or using facilities at the nearby community centre to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Mark Gibbs or PCSO Meikel Miller using the non-emergency number 101.
To report crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
