Alfreton teenager stole body-building supplement from Tesco
AN ALFRETON teenager who stole a body-building product told police he intended to sell it.
Myron Scott (18) was with a friend who security staff saw place Maximuscle supplement inside a carrier bag at Tesco, Alfreton.
“As they got to the door the first male passed the bag to the defendant and ran off,” prosecutor Becky Mahon told Chesterfield magistrates.
“Staff tried to stop the defendant who dropped the bag and ran off. He was later identified by police from CCTV.”
Scott was interviewed about the September 14 theft on November 8 and stated that he would have sold the £40 supplement.
“Police know who the other male is but he hasn’t been interviewed yet,” said Ms Mahon.
Scott, of Parkin Street, Alfreton, admitted theft. He had previously been jailed for breaching a community sentence.
Magistrates handed him a six-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £50 costs.
“I’m sorry for doing it. I went to prison not long ago. I had nothing at all and was living on the street,” Scott told the court.
“I’ve started sorting myself out now. I’ve got somewhere to live and a job interview. I’m in contact with my family again.”
