Kings Mill Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal launch.

NEWLY-formed AFC Mansfield are to donate the gate receipts from their match with Bentley on Saturday to Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal.

The Central Midlands Football League side have thrown their weight behind our life-saving campaign and are now urging football lovers to turn out in force and help raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

So far £70,000 has been raised since Chad teamed up with King’s Mill Hospital on 27th June to launch our ambitious campaign to help hospital bosses purchase a state-of-the-art MRI scanner.

Club director Andy Saunders said: “We are expecting between 120 and 140 at the game so it should be a good day and help raise good money for the MRI appeal.

“We are a community-based club and want to give something back to the community. Equipment like this is vital to the Mansfield area and the club is fully behind this campaign.”

AFC Mansfield, who play at Forest Town Welfare, are currently second in the North division of the league, while Bentley are rock-bottom.

Hospital bosses say the new state-of-the-art MRI scanner will allow them to offer hundreds of thousands of patients across the district safer, faster and more detailed diagnosis over the next seven years.

Donations to our MRI appeal can be made by visiting Chad receptions, calling the customer services department at King’s Mill Hospital on 01623 672222, by visiting Sherwood Forest Hospital’s NHS Trust website, through Just Giving or by cheque.

All cheques should be made payable to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charitable Funds.

See the Chad website for all the latest news on the MRI Scanner Appeal.
